A Polícia Civil do Rio de Janeiro apreendeu supostas músicas inéditas de Renato Russo, líder da Legião Urbana, uma das bandas mais conhecidas do rock nacional, na manhã desta segunda-feira (26). O material estava em um estúdio, cujo dono está sendo investigado por comercializar ilegalmente as músicas. Policiais da DRCPIM (Delegacia de Repressão aos Crimes Contra Propriedade Imaterial) cumpriram mandados de busca e apreensão em alguns endereços da capital carioca. O objetivo da ação foi identificar eventuais obras inéditas do cantor e compositor, morto em 11 outubro 1996, em complicações decorrentes da Aids, aos 36 anos. O principal alvo da polícia foi um estúdio usado pelo artista em seus últimos anos de vida, de acordo com a investigação. No local, estariam escondidas cerca de 30 composições inéditas de Renato Russo, comercializadas ilegalmente, segundo denúncia feita pelo filho do artista, Giuliano Manfredini. O filho de Renato encontrou na internet um perfil oferecendo músicas inéditas do pai, do qual o jovem detém os direitos autorais. Ele acionou a polícia, que deu início à investigação, há cerca de um ano. Chamada de “Será”, alusão a um dos grandes sucessos cantados por Renato Russo, a operação apreendeu ainda computadores e arquivos, que serão avaliados. A defesa do responsável pelo estúdio não havia sido localizada até a publicação desta reportagem. Morto em 1996, Renato Manfredini Júnior fundou a Legião Urbana, uma das principais bandas surgidas na década de 1980, além de ter tido carreira solo e músicas gravadas por diversos artistas.
