Em sua memória, a viúva de Chris Vicky Cornell e o Espólio do cantor compartilharam um cover inédito de "Patience" do Guns N 'Roses' que Chris Cornell gravou em Los Angeles em março de 2016. "Ouvir [o cover de Chris Cornell] novamente depois de tantos anos foi assustadoramente bonito; trouxe tudo de volta com uma lembrança agridoce ”, afirmou Vicky Cornell em comunicado. "Seu aniversário parecia o momento perfeito para compartilhar isso e celebrar Chris, sua voz, música, histórias e arte." Junto com a música, os filhos de Chris Cornell, Toni e Christopher, estão lançando iniciativas para combater o vício. O programa “PARE O ESTIGMA” ensinará os alunos do ensino médio sobre a ciência dos transtornos por uso de substâncias e também sobre a prevenção. Além disso, Toni e Christopher estão lançando um podcast sobre o assunto em agosto. Chris Cornell morreu em maio de 2017, aos 52 anos.

Listen below. “Listening to [Chris Cornell’s cover] again after so many years it was hauntingly beautiful; it brought it all back in a rush of bittersweet memories,” Vicky Cornell said in a statement. “His birthday seemed the perfect time to share this and celebrate Chris, his voice, music, stories, and art.” Along with the song, Chris Cornell’s children Toni and Christopher are launching initiatives to address addiction. The “STOP THE STIGMA” program will teach high school students about the science of substance use disorders and also prevention. In addition, Toni and Christopher are launching a podcast on the topic in August. Chris Cornell died in May 2017 at the age of 52.
