Erasure used social media to put an end to retirement rumors. After news suggesting the band's end, the duo was direct: "Vince Clarke and Andy Bell are working together on a new album and have no plans to stop." The confusion began after a statement by Vince Clarke to the Substack channel The New Cue, where, when asked about the bravest decision of his career, he replied: "To stop touring." This statement was interpreted by some media outlets as an indication of the group's disbandment.

In practice, however, the change only concerns live performances. Clarke already tends to avoid long tours, while Andy Bell remains active on stage with his solo career, including a recent visit to Brazil. Formed in 1985, Erasure continues to be active, with the members exploring side projects without abandoning their partnership. Clarke, who also made history in Yazoo and Depeche Mode, continues producing, while Bell maintains his concert schedule. In other words: the end is nowhere near.
